1. Participation in the modernization program of units 5 and 6 of the Kozloduy NPP, subcontracts with the companies from the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant and Westinghouse – over 25 main measures such as:
    • Increasing the reliability of the safety valves of the steam generators (planning and design of the complete replacement);
    • Installation of an automatic cold-pressurization protection device (study, analysis, design);
    • Installation of hydrogen detection and monitoring systems;
    • Filter system for reducing pressure in the containment;
    • Diagnostic systems (examples – leak detection systems, migratory bodies, fatigue monitoring systems – KUS, FLUS, FAMOS);
    • Implementation of a system for monitoring critical parameters in emergency and post-accident situations (SPDS, PAMS);
    • Conducting an analysis of the consequences of internal hazards (examples – internal flooding, rupture of high-energy pipelines)
    • Classification of safety, seismicity and quality of systems and equipment of units 5 and 6;
    • Updated Technical Safety Case (TSC), Bringing the safety analyses of the TSC in line with international practice, etc.
  2. Implementation of a Decommissioning Management System – units 1 and 2 – subcontractor of EWN.
  3. Assessment of some safety issues of reactors WWER-440/230 and WWER-1000/320 – contract with GRS, Germany.
  4. Participation in the development of Severe Accident Management Manuals for units 3&4 and for units 5&6 of Kozloduy NPP (preparation of all severe accident analyses necessary for the project).
  5. Preliminary safety justification for the reconstruction of units 1 and 2 (jointly with RISK Engineering AD).
  6. Project Management and Engineering Services Unit at Kozloduy NPP for tasks on decommissioning of units 1 and 2 (Subcontractor of BNFL/EDF).
  7. Analysis of dependent failures in case of rupture of feedwater pipelines in the containment of units 3 and 4 of Kozloduy NPP.
  8. Thermohydraulic analyses of LOCA DN 200 mm and LOCA 2xDN 500 mm with consideration of the blockages for filling the RAP from the BAP and changing the threshold of activation of the blockages for opening the pressure valves of the PAZ – Kozloduy NPP units 3 and 4.
  9. Filter system for pressure reduction for units 3 and 4 of Kozloduy NPP – subcontractor of FANP Germany
  10. Installation of hydrogen detection and monitoring systems for units 3 and 4 of Kozloduy NPP – subcontractor of FANP Germany
  11. Analysis of the isolation of the systems connected to the I circuit of units 3 and 4
  12. Detailed design for physical separation of the equipment from the safety systems in the boron assemblies of units 3 and 4 of Kozloduy NPP

  • ENPRO Consult Ltd. gives students of Nuclear Energy and Thermal Power Engineering the opportunity to work in the company's office and get to know the business up close. The duration of the internships is 3 months (July, August and September). The deadline for submitting documents is the end of June each calendar year.

Requirements for candidates:

– To be students in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year, studying the specialty "Thermal Power Engineering or Nuclear Power Engineering"

– To have a minimum GPA of 4.00 in the last semester;

– To show high motivation and desire for development, as well as high personal discipline.

  1. Motivation letter for applying for the program, for development in the relevant field, interests and extracurricular activities/projects and professional experience.
  2. Certificate from the Technical University - city Sofia or Sofia University "Kliment Ohridski" that for the current academic year the student is enrolled in a full-time form of study in one of the specified programs.
  3. A copy of a bachelor's degree diploma or a certificate of completion of a degree with a calculated average grade point average. For applicants after the first semester of the master's program, an additional certificate with a calculated average grade point average for the semester before application is required.
