Accumulated experience and capabilities in the field of production technology and safety of nuclear and energy, radiation protection, radioactive waste management and in the field of conventional energy

Building on the experience accumulated by its leading specialists since the early 1970s, over the years of its existence ENPRO CONSULT has developed in the following main areas:

  1. Analysis and assessment of safety in nuclear power plants with VVER, including reactor installations of generation III and III+: with modern passive safety systems (such as AES 91, AES 92, AES 2006, AES MIR)
    • Thermohydraulic analyses of transient and emergency modes for all design states of the nuclear power unit; development, optimization and validation of models used in simulators, including severe accidents;
    • Modeling and conducting analyses of transient and emergency regimes for all operational states of VVER-440 and VVER-1000 units, including full implementation of the analyses included in the Chapter “Accident Analysis” of the Safety Justification Report (analysis of the state of the core, analysis of the behavior of the containment, determination of the source and composition of the radioactive discharge outside the containment, assessment of the radiological consequences for the population and the environment), in accordance with national and international standards and laws;
    • Analysis of transient and emergency regimes and justification of proposals for modernization and safety enhancement of nuclear power units;
    • Analysis of transient and emergency regimes and preparation of proposals for the purpose of extending the operational resource of nuclear power units;
    • Analyses of processes in the containment areas of NPPs in the event of severe accidents and preparation of tasks for the design of severe accident management systems for units with VVER-440 and VVER-1000;
    • Supporting analyses in the development of emergency instructions and manuals for the management of severe accidents;
    • Analysis of the radiological consequences of design basis and beyond design basis accidents, support in the preparation of emergency plans.
    • Analyses of the nuclear fuel cycle, including subcriticality in active areas and during transportation and storage of nuclear fuel.
    • Assessment and design of radiation protection when working in an environment with ionizing radiation.
  2. Design and engineering of technological systems for nuclear and conventional power plants:
    • High-energy pipelines for water and steam under high pressure, including pipelines of the first NPP circuit;
    • Stress analysis for static and dynamic loads and temperature gradients;
    • Static loads on pipelines of classes 1-4 (conventional power plants) and 1-3 (nuclear power plants);
    • Dynamic loads from internal and external sources;
    • Fatigue and residual resource assessment of pipelines and equipment
    • Design of severe accident management systems (pressure reduction systems, filter ventilation systems, etc.).
  3. System analyses and other types of analyses:
    • Development and updating of Nuclear Power Plant Safety Justification Reports;
    • Analyses and assessments of systems and equipment, including mechanical analyses of pipelines and systems of the primary and secondary circuits, reactor vessels and internal vessel devices;
    • Analysis of seismic effects on pipelines and equipment;
    • Analysis of the effects of internal initiating events (rupture of high-energy pipelines, thermal shock at high pressure, etc.);
    • Classification and qualification of equipment;
    • Analysis and design of technological systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning);
    • Programs for monitoring the condition of reactor vessels;
    • Preparation of procedures for measuring the density of hermozones.
  4. Measurement and control systems:
    • Pre-design studies, design and commissioning of I&C systems and process control equipment in nuclear and conventional;
    • Implementation of diagnostic systems and control systems for technological processes in NPPs, as well as systems for early detection of leaks (leak before rupture);
    • Analyses of existing I&C systems;.
    • Analysis and qualification of systems in terms of seismicity and working environment.
  5. Activities in the design and management of decommissioning and radioactive waste management;
  6. Development of regulatory documents in the field of nuclear power plant safety
  7. Licensing activities.
  8. Consulting services and project management.

Specific and extensive experience in projects related to the planning and implementation of new nuclear facilities, including nuclear power plants:

  • Selection and licensing of sites for nuclear facilities
  • Study and infrastructure of sites for nuclear facilities
  • Analyses and design related to new nuclear facilities
  • Consultations of potential investors in nuclear facilities

Trainings

Future in Energy industry!

We created the internship program in line with our mission to build a better future for young people in Bulgaria. We strive to provide employment in a dynamic and innovative environment, to support hard work, ambition and talent.

  • ENPRO Consult Ltd. gives students of Nuclear Energy and Thermal Power Engineering the opportunity to work in the company's office and get to know the business up close. The duration of the internships is 3 months (July, August and September). The deadline for submitting documents is the end of June each calendar year.

See what you will get if you intern with us:

Training from some of the best professionals in the energy industry

Development of skills through a variety of tasks and projects

Working with modern technologies and innovative methods

Spirit of cooperation and support in close-knit teams

Individual program

Constant feedback from a personal mentor

Monthly remuneration

Opportunity for a longer-term commitment to the company

Requirements for candidates:

– To be students in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year, studying the specialty "Thermal Power Engineering or Nuclear Power Engineering"

– To have a minimum GPA of 4.00 in the last semester;

– To show high motivation and desire for development, as well as high personal discipline.

Application documents

  1. Motivation letter for applying for the program, for development in the relevant field, interests and extracurricular activities/projects and professional experience.
